far molitum est, Graece Α῎λευρον; proprie enim de farre dicitur. At farina hordeacea, Graece Α῎λφιτον, Latinis polenta appellatur, qua de voce infra. Hesych. Α῎λευρα κυρίως τὰ σίτου, ἄλφιτα δὲ τὰ τῶ κριθῶν. Vide de illa Plin. l. 18. c. 9. uti de usu eius in facris, infra in voce Mola; in divinationibus, item quoa genus Α᾿λευρομαντείαν, et Α᾿λφιτομαντείαν dixere Graeci, apud Iamblich. Mola certe hinc dicta eruditis, quod sarre molito aspergerentur victimae. Sed et ex simila constabant in V.
